I am thinking about a 7mgte swap into my na supra. Can I use a 89 turbo ecu and harness in my 87 car? Or does the harness have to be the same year as the body? Thanks

Not a bad kill on the 5.9 dakota. I had a 98 grand cherokee 5.9 limited which is pretty similar to the dakota. with intake and exhaust the jeep would run 9.40's through the 1/8th. Sadly thats the fastest vehicle I have owned till I get my soup on the road. Cant wait:biglaugh:

Is it me or does it seem like the 2jz's hold up better than the 7m's? I mean all I ever hear about is rod knock from 7ms but hardly anything about 2jz's that alone might be worth the hassle to swap it in and turbo it. Has anyone on here done a sucessful 2jz na-t conversion in a mk3? Thanks...

Well I've searched and searched and I just wanted to be certain, I have a knock.... it happens at idle and grows with rev's, but its not a consistant knock its very random, almost sounds like popcorn when its about done cooking. I thought when rods knock its a consistant knock not something so...

Well i checked the codes. I got a 12 and a 52. 12 is rpm signal? and 52 is knock sensor? any thoughts? Thanks

Keep in mind i have a jeep and untill now have never owned a dohc engine. Im taking it that a CEL is some kind of trouble code? I have no haynes manual or a TSRM so I have no real idea what your talking about. Can anyone tell me how to check the timing?

Ok so i bought this 87 supra na. The guy said his son took it out and when it came back it had a tick/knock so now that i have it home i really dont believe its rod knock. Not only does it seem to be coming from the top of the engine but it comes and goes and it keeps throwing the check engine...

So bottom line, how big of a shot will a stock, good condition 7mge take with the proper supporting fuel mods? And an mhg with arp studs. I know the stock block will handle around 400wrhp.... Why can't i do that with nitrous?
