Well she failed emissions yesterday. NOx was 4.057, limit was 3.500. Cleaned the egr pipes and made sure everything was in working order which it was. Cleaned as much carbon as i could from the cylinders/valves using a BG44K trick a co-worker taught me and made sure ignition timing was correct...
Chain wrench and not a little one, like an 18-24 in one and a 1/2in breaker bar. I use a piece of and old timing belt in between the chain wrench and crank pulley so it doesn't damage the crank pulley. I've seen the starter trick put a breaker bar through a radiator.
Check for any obstruction in air flow for the radiator, make sure your fan clutch isnt bound (though i doubt thats it). Good chance that its your thermostat.
Have you had your battery tested? Recheck all connections for the battery relocation kit? The problem does sound electrical. Kinda sounds like you alternator may be weak and when you came to a stop your battery did not have enough life left to support the car. Thats just a guess though, happened...

I bought an ebay gasket set once.... It was for my 92 stealth turbo. Virtually all of the gaskets fit poorly and the rear main seal lasted less than 100 miles. The brand was Evergreen I believe. Use fipg (form in place gasket) where Toyota calls for it.
So I opened up the timing cover today to replaced the front crank seal and to my surprise this is what I found, besides a brand new timing belt and very poorly installed front crank seal.
