    Wheel Fitment & Question Thread

When you say 'too wide', is it for safety reasons or cosmetic/style? Firestone sold me the last set and put them on without any warnings. I'd really like to get some Hankook Ventus r-s3's thinking about getting: font: 225 45zr17 rear: 245 40zr17 do you think those diameters will work alright...

    Wheel Fitment & Question Thread

Is my setup dangerous? I really need new tires and don't want to change my wheels at the moment. I've been daily driving on these sizes for 10 years. wheels 7.5x17 front and back front 215/50R17 rear 275/40R17 This size rear tire was on the wheel when I got the car and I've been...

Trying to diagnose what seems to be a fuel delivery issue

CONCLUSION: FAULTY FUEL RELAY! After looking over the TSRM and searching the forums, I decided to hook up a multimeter to my fuel pump to read the voltage during this issue. I had read about the 2 voltage modes this car uses, 9 for low and 12 for high. After connecting a wire from the 'Fp'...

Trying to diagnose what seems to be a fuel delivery issue

Thanks for replying, stew. I feel very confident in the physical operation of my throttle linkage and plate, but I will keep it in mind and check it. In an attempt to rule out my TPS, I disconnected it and my battery overnight. Left the TPS disconnected and drove again and had the same...

Trying to diagnose what seems to be a fuel delivery issue

Thanks for your patience and input everyone. I got a video uploaded to youtube and paid closer attention to what was happening. The sound is pretty decent as long you're using headphones. Heres the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7vGDasJNSQ Description of whats happing during the...

Trying to diagnose what seems to be a fuel delivery issue

215k on body. Probably 150k on engine. About 70k since last head job in 2003. Don't think filter or pump has been touched on this body at least not since 2000. The power loss doesn't feel jerky. It feels like the engine gets shut off for a split second. Will get a video up tonight

Trying to diagnose what seems to be a fuel delivery issue

Bryan, those items aren't newer than 9 years, and not more than 50k miles on them. Do you think that the 'ignition breakup' would trigger the computer to cut off the engine the way I described without throwing a check engine light? Ghost, since this car isn't my daily driver, I didn't want to...

Trying to diagnose what seems to be a fuel delivery issue

Thanks for the clarification, ghost. I connected and disconnected the wire harness for the CPS. Everything looked in order, no suspicious looking wires and the connector still snaps in place correctly. I don't have the check engine light on to indicate codes, but just to be sure, I shorted...

Trying to diagnose what seems to be a fuel delivery issue

I'll start out by saying I don't have a lot of mechanical experience working on cars. I've been driving my 87 7mgte for 9 years now, and my do-it-yourself list of accomplishments is: starter, alternator, radiator. This car has been very reliable for me, I run the boost at a conservative 9lbs...

    No start issue.

When you say "starter relay", are you referring to this mod? http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?76403-Car-not-starting-randomly-READ-THIS-(30-Amp-Starter-Relay-Mod) If not, I highly suggest you do it. I drove my car for over a year with a signal wire that carried just enough...

    My interior upholstery work

Poodles, Thanks for the tip, I hadn't thought of that. supra1008, she got great wife points. i think she even discovered that they run a little bit of a discount on some of their kits on ebay, and once you purchase the auction, you can specify that usual options. getting seats is a great way to...

    My interior upholstery work

757_supra, I got my VHT from amazon. Removing the pillars might be the easiest thing to remove. You'll pull up on each end of the grab handle and push the rubber end toward the center, exposing a screw on each end. Once those are unscrewed, you'll pull the top and middle of the pillar out...

    My interior upholstery work

I got my kit from leather seats dot com. It was pricey, around $880, I think, but the fit and construction was excellent. Think she may have got it from one of their ebay listings which might have been a little less than on their website, not sure. She got the kit for our car that has real...
