BBK is introducing a new TPI intake manifold. It might be a great answer for this swap as I when I start this swap im staying efi. While putting a v8 in s supra seems fairly wrong. A carbed one just somehow seems worse :biglaugh: . Tuning a TPI computer is pretty simple! lol hell theres tons...
If someone has a small enough camera do what one of the camaro guys did and place a camera under the hood while driving. You could actually watch some of the flex. The firewall flex has already had a video posted on here. On my camaro I had an edelbrock 3 point stb along with a front frame...
I disagree. I get far less targa wobble with the strut tower brace. Lets face it it these cars arent exactly the stiffest things around they flex almost any place you could think of. Additional bracing is a good idea. Though I will agrees sway bars are definitely needed!
Im in for the Targa louvers and hope to pick up a cowl off of him soon!
But would love to see more interior parts!
Anyone in on some more interior parts?
Wouldnt mind a few more interior pieces. Like maybe the Tems switches. Or The plastic between the vents on the passenger side interior. Or the power window switches would be nice as well. Maybe the interior mirror covers. Just kind of like how a bmw would be.
Here in mo usually if you hit a pot hole and it takes out a wheel. When you report it and tell them the location etc etc you get the money for repairs!
few different people made Runners for the TPI. But it was always just easier to replace the whole tpi unit with a stealthram the difference is VERY NICE! And the difference between the small cam 5 spd tpi and the bigger cam tpi 5 spd was the difference between low 15's and mid to high 14's...
So much misinformation in this thread outside of the OP information.
Nothing wrong with an SBC. They are highly reliable and can take a lot of abuse.
TPI yes they came in camaros but its a very good platform to start from. Easy to tune and easy to modify. TPI itself is a good design for...
judging by the pull Im betting thats a peanut cam TPI 305. (the 190hp model) Not a put down. Ive had 2 3rd gen Fbodies. Actually miss the 89 ttop rs I had. It was the 305 but it was the less TBI 305 (though TBI auto to TPI peanut cam auto is a close race)
The TPI actually doesnt flow that bad for the 305. The 350 it does choke off. As far as dying off at 4500. A lot of that is related to the small cams in both the LB9 and L98 Engines. An lt1 cam is a small upgrade for the 305. Though I will be very interested if you get the tpi manifold...
