Is it another 4 bolt or you went 6? Or looking for 6? I talked with Phil about it...He was fine on the 4 bolts until he started getting under 1.8 60ft times on radials. You shouldn't be breaking them on street launches. I'm hoping that diff was just lashing because I don't plan on upgrading for...
Thanks. I'm still working on the wiring and cooling system. Have to re weld the bungs on the radiator. I'm hoping to fire it by next weekend. Only time will tell.
LoL 19c and I have known each other for a few years now. Its just chance we both had silver starions and hated the g54b. He picked up the 1j from me and knocked out the swap. I may have made it a little easier on him though... :D
I daily drove the 1jz for a year and a half. I had plans on modding it but came across the 2j and couldn't turn it down. Its not that clean which is why I'm trying to restore it. The bay is really coming out nice, I hope the rest of the car follows.
Well I went 1jz and ended up finding a 2jz so it was only logical to improve. Tore the bay down and working on getting it running now. Worried about the wiring but I think I can handle it. Curious if I can simply hook an indicator light up to pin 6 on the 40pin plug as my check engine light...
I had trouble with the "same" no start issue about 3 months after I finished my swap. It would randomly die going down the road. It was a bad ECU ground... just FYI.
I'm still working on it. I'm trying to make them " pnp " with my factory starion harness. Using the factory fuel sender, volts, ACC, etc. Its a real pita.... I plan on trying the speedo individually in the next couple of days.
I'll try to hook it up the way you said this weekend. We'll see how it goes. I just havn't found anyone doing an r154 swap using the electric unit I have.
I was thinking I would have to have a signal coming "from" the ecu and nothing thinking of the signal from the sender itself. Thanks.
You posted a link to an mechanical speedo adapter that I don't have....My trans does not have the mechanical unit....How is it redundant and useless? I knew how to go that route as everyone already has...What I don't know is where to find the mechanical unit...I guess thanks for the replys.....
From my new aftermarket electric speedo:
Speedometer will work with any OEM or aftermarket speed sensor or electronic module that meets the following conditions:
1.Pulse range generated proportional to the vehicle speed
2.Signal with minimum 3V peak to peak signal - typical for 3-wire hall...
Hey guys,
I bought a full set of aftermarket electric Marshall gauges for my 1jz. I was hoping that I could use the electric speed sensor already in the r154 but I'm not sure if this is possible. Everyone I know that has gone to an electric speedo has had the mechanical unit and used an...
