This is my opinion so take it for what it is worth. If the fix was that easy then i feel that vendours would be offering those services. Once again, that is my opinion so i could be completely off track. All in all, its a good solution to bring up.
Personally, guys and gals, we just need to...
I "believe" you can buy brand new calipers from Wilwood that have all of the previous OEM fixes and are offered for 150-225 a piece. It just all depends on having their catalog and seeing what will "work" with our custom made brackets.
I agree with the T56, V160, 350z Trans would be leaps and bounds better. I don't discredit the r154- it's one hell of an amazing transmission especially when you consider how well it performs from 80s technology. However, I think the T56 or the 350z would be a best option as a long term...
No need to take offensive sir :).... Anyways I did not look into the prices of the calipers so i was just based the calipers price that was quoted from the thread. But it's nice to know that there is another alternative. Now, if you feel ballsy enough; a before and after brake test would be the...
If that's the case, you can use the Focus RS brembo calipers. Part number M-2300-B. Those are the same ones used in the 2000 Cobra Rs however, it is not the same color (grey calipers). A simple search, back then in 2006, you could find a new set from anywhere from $605 to 735 dollars brand new...
Thanks Hvyman and Poodles. That was very educational.
This brings me up to my biggest concern. The R154 been a stout transmission for its stock purpose and levels beyond that. But once pushing the r154 to levels past 700 rwtq. it becomes a questionable topic. Yes, it has held but then again...
Please explain more in details why a straight-cut, dog engagement gearset will be better? Has anyone proven this transmission with good success? I'm very interested in a beefy transmission so spending the money isn't my concern. However, doing it right the first time is.
you really need to do another group buy i'm sure they're are plenty of us that could make the 50% deposit for whatever price. Granted it won't be the 600 dollar price but the discount will still be nice. Who and where can we buy this hood if you can't get another groupbuy going?
You should really implement some kind of deposit. Things happen and some members can just be shaddy when it boils down to it. I would get your values worth of the item just in case you do end up getting screwed. Of course, it's your item and your money but i would hate for that to happen to you.
Sounds to me, that if your concern about a 2jzge with just 75K miles for 350 is an expense. Then defiantly doing the 2jzge swap will put a good size hole in your wallet lol. Even if you had to do a headgasket swap or even a full tear down, 350 for that 2jzge with those miles is one hell of a...
He's right for that power goals the 7m will achieve that horsepower goal... no problem and the money spent for getting the "start up" conversion parts like BIC brackets(~150), wiring conversion(~450), Flywheel (~150) ,and 1jz bellhousing (~300) just to swap out the basics. You're already at 1050...
