    7M+5M+6M+M3.....Confused??? :-)

    I love your paint job on the engine, and I'll have wet dreams about your flywheel tonight. One thing, I do hope you're going to weigh those pistons and match them before you put them in. Nothing against your hand work, but after using a hand grinder it's good to make sure you took the same off...

    Poor brake pedal feel

    So your brakes work fine? Your stopping distance isn't affected? Kind of a mushy feeling under your foot, with no idea what's really happening at the wheels? Sounds like you're driving a Ford. I'd say it's your booster but I'd expect the opposite effect, unless your foot is going to the...

    R154 Carnage

    Txsupra is right, that's not a flaw, it's a feature. It also makes draining the trans a snap.

    1987 tsrm

    I have the 87 TSRM and an 89 NA. One point to note in the trans section is for the W58. If you have the R154 then I don't know. The one difference I found between my car and the TSRM in the W58 section is the number of detent pins under one of the 3 plugs on the side of the trans. I don't...

    flywheel bolts broken

    Get a set of easyouts. With those cheap bolts you'll have no problem getting it out. Drill in the center of the bolt then run the easyout into the hole and the bolt will come out.

    Ecu=no power

    I'll admit that I'm not familiar with MKIII ECU wiring, but I've heard "Oh shit yeah, that'll be just fine" usually followed by the release of the magic smoke one too many times. Thanks for the correction.

    got head back from machine shop with notch in it

    I know this is an old thread, but just so you guys know what you're looking at if you think the machinist made that mark, it's called an inclusion, it's a flaw from the casting process where sand breaks off the mold and falls into the molten aluminum. Turn enough cast iron on a lathe and you...

    another A/C problem

    What does anyone think about water in the system? High enough ambient humidity when the system was put together, or if the system was left open for any length of time could let in enough water to freeze at the expansion valve.

    Ecu=no power

    I think the point JetJock was trying to make is that tapping into an ECU switched +12V power source is a bad idea. You're unlikely to hurt anything with a multimeter unless you're working on an airbag system. If you suck that much power from a low amperage source there might not be enough to...

    AFPR vacuum hoses and an electrical problem

    Since those wires bolt to the fuse directly, get a new fuse & bolt it up, wrap it in electrical tape and shove it up in the void in your fuse box for the time being. That way you're protected if something's wrong with your system.
