I just saw a commercial for this stuff called "Zmax micro lubricant" so I looked it up.

Anyway...I'm not sure what it does...they make a fuel additive and a oil additive and a transmission additive...supposedly it "soaks" into metal and protects the parts of your engine that it comes into contact with because its smaller than oil molecules and can penetrate into metal deeper...

Now thats all just stuff they say, I don't know how much of it is true.

But on to my main concern...does anyone know about this stuff?

If so, does it work? Does it do anything good? Anything bad?

Anyway here is a link to their website:

These type products keep popping up under different names like Prolong and Bi-Tron. The FTC took action on both and zMax for false claims. These companies use "Pseudo Science" to support the claims made for these products...the real key is if the main selling points uses testimonials as support. Don't buy off on it. With gas getting expensive as it is, these products zoom in popularity because people WANT them to work...they don't.

There are additives out there that have use...ones that contain ZDDP for the old Chevy flat tappet cam motors or like Valvoline Synthetic Oil Treatment (VSOP) that replenish the additive pack when you go for extended oil change intervals (12K +). These have specific purpose...there is no additive out there that will ever live up to the claims made for products like zMAX. Don't waste your hard earned $$$.
