Been awhile since updates. Well, turbo oil seals blew in August, so I put the Supra under the knife to get a bunch of other stuff done. Replaced ALL the bushings with Energy Suspension's. We carry all Energy's bushings at the lowest prices you will find ANYWHERE! Dont believe me? try us.

Other than that finally chiselled out the all the rest of the sound deadening

Then finally got rid of the crappy OEM boost gauge with this complimentary Autometer boost gauge. No need to go all out with other gauges since the whole dash is gonna be gone in the end anyways

Finally Zankoku is in da Hood, after years of trying to get one of these

18lbs, lighter than any carbon hood on the market for the MKIII. Picked it up for $100 in San Leandro!

Its irrelevant if anyone "feels" the hood or not and itts more like by pounds not ounces. Duane's hoods were 22lbs i think and the last CF hood GB we had on here were 25 & 27lbs. Also vents better than the Stout hood. These vents actually draw out the air from the engine bay for improved cooling. Instead Stout places a NACA style duct right infront of vent for that air to go in and right back out and then those other 2 "vents" at the near the rear of the hood are so near the base of the windshield they would actually draw air in instead of out. If it didnt actually have a superior function, I woulda gone w/ an OEM style lightweight hood. But now I need to make an air diversion panel since this doesnt have the rubber seal in the right spot like a stock metal hood has.

I don't particularly like the look of the bonnet (hood), but it is 100% functional for what you do with this car, so that gets a thumbs up from me :)

Well taking some test runs around the roads by the shop, the old engine apparently didnt like the fresh turbo or 10psi and decided to let loose with something. It started to sound like a WRX and deployed its Stealth Attack smoke screen again so back into the shop it went. Compression is actually all good across the board... statically, doenst mean it is when the engine is actually in use. So today, i'll have the motor out and begin a complete thorough rebuild on it. It'll be bristling with close to 400 freshly assembled hp when its put back in... well actually more like no more than 381 to be exact as per NASA regulations.
I dont happen to have my camera at the shop today but the motor will be out in about an hour. Will receive all new bearings & rings. Stock pistons and rods are well good past 400hp so dont need those. Head will be pressure tested and completely rebuilt as per whats needed. Seals for sure. Reassembled w/ another Cometic gasket and ARP studs this time. All new seals throughout the whole engine again. Every little nook and cranny will be inspected this time repaired/replaced this time.
Not bad for a "band-aid" engine. Bought the car with a rod knock in 02 and dropped this Attarco engine in so I could enjoy driving the car again, never meant for it to be the engine I would use to compete with, lol, but the cards just happened to come out that way. I was actually going to build another engine on the side meanwhile I continued with this one and then drop the competition motor in. However it looks like I'll be pulling this, building it and then resuming building the 2JZ to transplant into this in another couple years, lol. At least its an excuse to do a bunch of other crap that i've wanted to do meanwhile the engine is out like the front facing intake manifold so I can get rid of about 3 feet of intercooler piping and use my larger happier front mount

STAY TUNED!

Most recent updates. Got the motor out of MY car & the motor out of my PARTS CAR. Right now MY engine and tranny are just gonna chill while I build the spare engine and then transfer everything over to it and drop it back in.

Well more progress. Started taking MY 7M apart because I decided to not go with the parts car engine. So I got the head off and its at the machinist now getting resurfaced, new seals put in, valves and seats cut. Next will be the block for decking, honing and a crank polish.

Even tho the pic doesnt show it good the cross hatch pattern on the cylinder walls was still very visible and not worn away. There also werent carbon depostis anywhere on the piston surface or on the combustion chamber. Overall a very clean head and engine to my surprise. I was sure it was gonna be beat

You asked for pics of new shell, you get pics of new shell

Well a small update. Nothing new done to the Stealth Attack but some tear down on the hardtop chassis

The ugly old 88 turbo automatic at my house

88 rear end will have to be swapped to the 89+ rear end

4 wheel steering? No, a bent toe arm from a curb shot will do that. But thats the only thing bent back there amazingly enough. However my 89+ rear subframe will be going up in there anyways as well

It only took about an hour to do that and it would've taken less time if the previous owner hadnt tried to make some kind of wooden speaker platform in the back that was screwed into to bottom so I had to take out ALL the screws and that was pretty time consuming

Another spare 7MGTE and turbo, so now we have a full spare powertrain for the car and 4 CT26s for sale! We wont be using the CT on our build so 4 CTs available, customizable any way you want them. Check out the details in our "Turbo Rebuilding Services" thread in the vendor section

Thanks. I been considering putting on another pre 89 front bumper when the car goes back together. I'm startin to feel those more. I think they look more agressive, mean. Still love the 89+ rear end tho.

88 rear end off, to be replaced w/ the 89s

Driver's chair gone. PITA, the seat was slid back and even w/ power the seat was inpo so I had to slide a long wrench under it and slowly take out the 14mm bolts
