My supra started doing something really odd on thursday, ill give everyone a run down;
1jz
single turbo
fmic / hardpipes
5 speed
mines ecu / afc neo
440 cc injectors
walboro pump
aeromotive fpr
BC 272's

everything else is irrelevant.

So heres the situation, im driving along car is running well... all of the sudden, tach starts jumping, check engine light comes on and it starts running really bad. Super rich, more than 10:1, backfires if given too much throttle, no power, and wont rev past like 2200 rpm.

There are a ton of posts that "My 1j wont rev past xxx" that is not the case here, normally the car runs like a champ, but then this shit starts, i cant figure it out...

So i change the spark plugs (which were drenched in gas) and she fires up, runs like nothing was wrong in the first place.

What do you guys think?

Thanks for any advice!

Did your fuel pressure reg have an issue? All vacuum lines attached correctly?

Check engine light came on you said, did you check the code it gave? Is everything like grounds secure?

What code did it throw?

Because of the seemingly random nature of the problem I'm going to go with wiring or ECU.

OK
also check your walbro pump... mine did the samething you described and i never figured it out... i'm starting to think i might need an new walbro... if you slowly accel you can get past 2200 rpms but then after about 3k rpms it runs deadly lean

e01 is a ground, and that actually goes to the ECU pinout too..

Check for grounds and make sure everything is secure..

Depending on the damage sometimes you can fix ECU's, sometimes you can't. I would recommend checking it before you run it anymore, because if the caps are leaking using it may only cause more damage. Get some pics up and I can tell you if it looks fixable.

Did not get time to check the ECU, Intercooler pipes are in perfect order.

Thanks guys!

Well, it looks good, for the exception of one burnt capacitor on the main board. A closer look reveals that they blue diode beside it looks like it was taken out as well...

Let me know what you guys think.

I put a new o2 sensor in today with ngk plugs gapped at .025. I installed my freshly repaired coil packs (fingernail polish looks like it worked well). She ran ok when i was on the throttle, she wont idle at all though.

after running her at ~1500 rpm for a minute or so, the tachometer got all jumpy/jerky even though i didnt move my foot, also it went rich as hell simultaneously.

So here are the pics of the ecu as promised!
