I just pickled up a set of solid subframe bushings. (2nd hand) I glanced under my car the other day. Im not sure were they go. I got 6 disks but It looks Like I will need more. Also has anyone done them? How Ez is it? I will only have about 3-4 hrs of shop time so Id rather not be pressing out or burning rubber out when the boss walks in. Thank you.

What you're talking about is the subframe bushing spacers. there are 2 bolts toward the front on either side and 1 toward the rear.
Remove those 6 bolts and you should have enough room to swap out the bushings.

Might be better to support it and just loosen all of them but not remove them and just do one at a time since you just need pull the bolt down and slide them in and tighten.

It is a cheap way of doing it.
I've seen the real ones that completely replace the whole subframe bush.
More pieces, more cost.
I have the ronnie-k urethane bushs, and they also completely replace the OEM stuff.
Really took away the squirmies in the twisties :naughty:

It helps to have extra hands when lowering the subframe, then getting it back into position.

I have nylon subframe bushings, and they transmit alot of differential noise.
I intend to go back in, and cut the spacers down slightly to allow the use of the original rubber bushings with them, to absorb some noise.
this will still allow the rear to be tight.

^how bad is it on a scale of 1-10? Which ones are you using? The beech performance ones?

I was thinking about getting those for the time being until i can get the ronniek ones.

It depends which style bushings you have BIC or others. The BIC bushings are actually spacers that replace the stock upper plate bushing, our lightweight solid nylon bushing sandwiches between the subframe and the chassis making a tight solid mount. The factory bushing remains in place in the subframe. Yes it does transmit slightly more NVH and diff noise as to be expected with solid mounting, but in return you get a much tighter handing car that you can really feel the difference in the weight transfer when cornering. These also help with reducing wheel hop as it is not existant with the solid spacers installed.

Installed today and I still have wheel hop. Im not knocking the product but I really didnt feel a diffrence. Lil more noise but nothing the radio didnt drown out. But I took the targa off and it felt the same. What I mean to say is that the car felt the same turning and launching with the targa on. With it off it felt just like it did before I did the mod. Idk maybe my car is cursed to wheel hop.?

Bent traction arms will cause wheel hop as well.

How does it feel around corners when the car starts to roll?

Hmm might be hard to notice if your not used to looking for the small details in your suspension. Esp with the h&r's.

I run H&R's and beefed up my trailing arms, also got a one piece driveshaft. All together I have zero wheelhop. I have not done my subframe bushings yet. IMO the biggest difference to wheelhop was gained from the trailing arm upgrades followed by the one piece driveshaft. The trailing arms spring with each hop making it worse and worse. Wheel hop will also kill your drivetrain in short order. Something is going to break.
