who has a cometic hg for sale??ship tomorrow

the machine shop took 10 thou off the bllock and head combined and i had taken 6 thou off the head two years ago.also it was not bored out just honed.
what thickness hg do i need?
i think 1.4 will be good :icon_conf <<<<????

i had it lapped to an RA30 smoothness

Damn...if i had known earlier i would have sold you my 1.4mm one.
I didnt not use..I returned it to hp freak in exchange for a 2.00mm one because i had 18 thou taken off block n head total.

Sorry...10 thou was taken off my head and 8 thou off my block..thats 18 thou in total...so I am going to use a 2.00mm gasket.

If you had 16 thou taken off, that is 0.4064mm. Add that to the stock 1.37mm compressed gasket. And you get 1.7764mm.
That is the gasket thickness you would need to get back to stock compression ratio.
Check with horsepower freaks...They might sell a Cometic haed gasket close to the 1.7764mm...I think they sell a 1.8mm one.

A 2.0mm gasket will lower your CR below the stock level.
