Dave (Grimjack) had to cut a hole in the top of his shroud, because the PWR is so thick it moves the shroud within 1/8" from the stock fan blades, and they can easily jam the fan and break the shroud.

yup mine fit like a glove

it was when i hit a curb at 35 mph that the fan implanted itself into the core of the radiator :sarcasm: sad day for me :3d_frown:

Myself and another guy nearby have Fluidynes. We both run Toyota red. Both weep coolant at the ends of the upper and lower tanks. I sent mine back to Fluidyne but they claimed it passed their pressure test. I shipped it with all of the original packaging including the cardboard on both sides of the core. They dented one of the top mounts, stuffed it in a box with peanuts and shipped it back.

Edit: I should add that the Fluidyne radiator fits perfectly including the stock fan shroud and aux fans. I have absolutely no complaints on fit, finish, or performance, just the leaks.

Thank link looks like rads are cheap but the pics don't look to accurate, so I don't know, some of them don't look like aluminum rads.

I am currently looking at the Mushimoto radiator and would like to know if it will fit with the stock cltuch fan and shroud. Does anyone on here have first hand experience with this rad?

Hate to bump and old thread but does the new mishimotos allow the stock mounting brackets to be used as well as the stock shroud?

I'm starting to compile info & specs on the radiator options now. If it's anything like my previous compilations, I probably won't touch this for another 5 years...

Stock: $425, 2-row?, 1.15" core, ?? fpi

CSF OEM: $185, 2-row, 1.3" core, ?? fpi *AT

CSF Race: $340 (discontinued), 2-row, 2" core, ?? fpi

Koyo OEM: $130, 2-row, 1.25" core, 20 fpi *AT

Koyo R: $360, 2-row, 2.1" core, 20 fpi (requires modification to fit factory fan shroud for 7ms)

Mishimoto: $240, 2-row, 2.2" core size, 14 fpi (may require some modifications to fit)

Megan Racing: $245, 3-row, ?? core size, ?? fpi

PWR: $500, 2-row, 2.2" core, 18 fpi

Fluidyne: $475, 2-row, 1.5" core, 17 fpi

edit: Updated Mishimoto's FPI (they advertise 7.25 -- its actually 14).

That is an untrue statement and needs to be corrected!

If you keep the hydrofan or fan shroud of the JZA70 then no modification is needed because it is designed for the JZA70.
I know because everything lines up and fits perfect in my car.

You should also note that if you go with anything thicker then a koyo good luck getting the mechanical fan or an e fan in there!

Anyway, keep in mind there's more to a radiator than just its core size (or worse, its end-tank size). The Mishimoto, for example, seems like a fantastic deal until you realize it only has 7.25 fins per inch. It's big core size means it can probably get away with it, but its definitely not ideal. I'm going to guess that the Megan is probably in the same ballpark.

PWR: $500, 2-row, 2.2" core, 18 fpi

Fluidyne: $475, 2-row, 1.5" core, 17 fpi

Seems like the Koyo R is the best for cost/fpi then?

Half true, since it doesn't fit perfectly with the 7m shroud, which is what your car probably came with. But I've made that notation a little more accurate now.

Seems that way -- I'm not sure at what point it becomes too dense for enough airflow, but I doubt the difference between 17 and 20fpi is that point.
