Thats right, I need to see where you guys who have done a battery relocation and still need to be drag srip legal have mounted your external cut off switch.

Also what brand/style of switch did you use?

I have been thinking of going behind the license plate but I need some ideas.

Post some pics if you got em!

i bought a moroso super duty switch. its a dual pole so the alternator can be killed along with the battery. i havent installed it yet, but mine will go behind the license plate. i will have 2 mounting positions for it so when im on the street it is completely inside the car so people cant frack with it and when im on the track i will remove the plate and use the second mounting point so it can be accessed from the outside.

why not make a mirror of the keyhole on the other side. fiberglass a similar cutout in the taillight and make a twin of the keyhole, just on the left side of the car with the killswitch in it.

Tuck it in behind the license plate. Take the plate off at the track, and back on when you hit the road.

I have had mine there for over 5 years now. I made a spacer for the plate to go over the switch and works great. You could take off the switch while regular driving but can leave it on and use as a sort of alarm. (besides your regular alarm ;) I use a Taylor switch.

Okay is it me or are there allot of questions about things that if you're smart and want to keep your Supra should NOT be answered? I've seen what does your key look like, then folks mentioned they could reproduce your key from the pic and then your gonna cry when someone steals your supra. I would imagine where someone keeps a secret kill switch is well a freaking SECRET unless you don't mind telling the car thief two blocks over just how to steal your car. Geez just leave the freaking keys in the ignition for that matter. It seems sometimes many of you don't think Scumbag Supras Thief’s never visit this awesome site. Keep It, Keep it SECRET. Just a bit of friendly food for thought:)

A battery kill switch is not something that need to be a secret, actually shouldnt be cause it is a safety item in the event of a wreck. A battery kill switch is not going to allow someone to steal your car if they know where its at. The worse thing that they could do is play a practical joke on you and turn it off so that the car wont power up and have you wondering for a few as to what the hell is going on. other then that, nothing that they can do by knowing where its at.

chris has a point there. if someone was asking where people put their spare key boxes on the car, that would be a different matter. as for the killswitch, seems perfectly safe to me.

yes i agree. the only point to hide it is so you dont have a big goofy looking switch hanging out the back. but i would recommend getting a cut-off switch w/ a removable key. that way it is safer (noone could kill the alarm) and easier to mount behind the plate.

Yea I wasnt really refering to a kill switch for security reasons, more along the lines for being drag racing legal. Since it needs to be quickly located in the event of an emergency, it should be somewhere pretty obvious
