Simon,

It needs to be a 30 profile at 285 size to keep it in ratio with the stock wheel or <1%. 285/30 were the closest on keeping <1%. Why a 40 profile on wide tyres? That doesn't make any sense.

I had a look at a few pics with 285's on a 10" wheel and it does bulge a bit depending on the actual brand of the tyre itself. So it's either stretch, or a bit of bulge. I don't care which way i go, as long as it can happen, so looking for some input from others who may have done it. It could be a case of 285 for the rears, 265 for the front. A 255/35 for the front would make it <1% too.

275/35/18s are almost 3% difference, and tire rack doesn't stock a 30 profile.

I have always run 40 up front and 35 in the rear but havent done the calculations in a while, I guess if you are over-tiring the rim, then going with a lesser profile makes sense. 275/35 for the rear nick, it's as close as you will get to what is available.

IMO perfect flush fitment with the fender, no rolling, no pulling, doesn't rub on hard corner bumps. just needs to be lowered to get rid of that fender gap.

Hey Bor, did you get a chance to do the XXR 502 on your car like you did the MB Battles for me?

I am waiting on it before ordering my rims to know what I like better.

Im pretty new to tire sizes and stuff, whats a good way to test fit wheels? I was searching around and people had wheels with no tires mocked up? Please explain haha. I have 18x9.75 +20 and was thinking of running a 235/35 tire and 225/40 or sm like that

really? i checked out a few pics in other threads, and they look like they stick out a bit. if they'll fit with a fender roll, i'm definitely getting them.

I like Boris' set up on his old blue car, the 17x9+15 17x10+25, but there's not enough meat on the tires for what turbo set I'm going for. If I want to run a little more rubber on something close to that, what offsets are recommended so that the wheels don't poke (and don't have to run overfenders)? Would something like +25 in the front and +30-35 in the rear be sufficient?

i just put on the wheels i posted. the rears are 17x10.5 +27. they stick out just a touch. i checked the shock clearance, and there's plenty of room. these would be perfect with a little more positive backspacing. i bet +35 to +45 would be perfect.
i'll post pics of it tomorrow.

here's my contribution to the thread. i think with a roll and pull, i'll be able to lower it to a proper ride height. i might run the 275's out back and put a 235 or 245 up front.

I have 18x8.5+15F and 18x9.5+18R and while I haven't mounted them yet, a 245/275 seems to just fit. My fenders are rolled flat..
