Hey s!ke, what size Thruxtons are you running on the rear and what sized tires? My car is the red MKIII posted by sawbladz and in the pic are the 18 x9.5 rears with 275 35 18's. I test fit a 275 35 18 today and it looks like it is sticking out of the fender well way too far and might might rub. The offset is 35mm and I am running Eibach springs.

Thanks

I'm guessing it depends on the tire brand?

I'm running 18x9.5 +35 with 275/35-18 all around. My front tires are the Dunlop Direzza DZ101 which have a lip protector, so the tire appears stretched. My rear tires are the Dunlop SP Sport 01 DSST RunOnFlat which doesn't have a lip protector, so the tire appears a little balloonish.
My suspension setup is Tokico HP Shocks (the blue ones) with the Eibach Pro Kit Springs. The front tires rub SOMETIMES, i'm talking about MINIMAL rubbing. the rears are perfect, but could use a 5mm space so the WHEEL sits flush with the fender. So as i guessed before, i guess it depends on the tire brand.

I believe mine are 18x8.5 in front and 18x9.5 in back. I am running 245/40/18 up front and 275/35/18 in rear. I bought mine off a guy, so I dont know what size the rims actually are.

Im looking into some wheels that are:

17x8 with a 7mm offset
and
17x9 with a 19mm offset

Will these fit ok? what do you think the widest tire I could fit is without rubbing? I dont want to cut or roll the fenders...

Thanks,

Mike

After test fitting my 18x 9.5 Thruxtons with 275 35 18"s, I have decided to stick with the 265's that I ran last year. They had no rubbing issues at all. The 275's literally stuck out past the wheel well at least 1/4". I compressed the suspension as far as I could and they wouldn't touch the wheel well but I'm sure that on a good bounce while cornering they would.

I will have to put up the 275's for sale. Too bad as they would have been nice on the car.

what kind of tires are they? if you take a look at my pics, i have 2 different 275's and they both fit different. but there's not as much rubber passing the wheel as you say. the rears sit fine. the fronts rub once in awhile.

The tires are Yokohama AVS DB S2 and they certainly stuck outside the fender much more than yours. Your current setup is more like mine with the 265's. Maybe the offset on the Thruxtons isn't a true +35? I'll try to post a few pics later.

Ist pic shows a 265 35 18 on the passenger rear. Camber looks off in most pics because it was just lowered off of the jack.
2nd pic shows the 275 35 18. Note how the tire sticks out past the fender.
3rd pic shows the 265 again - fits nice
4th pic top view of the tire protruding past the fender well.
