whats the difference?

ok here are my motors one has bad rod knock and the other is a low mileage jdm why do they look diferent in this spot what do i put here?

The only difference I recall for the JDM and USDM motors is that the JDM ones don't have EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation). Here's a TSRM diagram.

so does that mean i really did get a jdm motor? and should i swap that plate over to the new motor for my emisions?

If you want it to pass emissions and stuff, I think you need a USDM TB, EGR VSV, and other EGR related stuff. Here's something that might help you.

Swap all EGR components over to the JDM engine, along with the EGR cooler(That plate on the back of the head) Or buy block off plates for the EGR(Bad idea if you need to pass emissions)

EGR remove blocking plate from inlet and rear of head slap on ebay for EGR delete bolt on your EGR goodies

Dont forget that heater water pipe is on the wrong side also
