Bodily poopy underwear.

True MkIII fans use A/B/C/D/#
A = engine
B = suspension
C = brakes
D = interior
# = year you bought it.

You rate them A - D, A being stock/barely modded, B being relitively modded, C is quite alot done to it, D is full race mods.

My red car would be C/B/B/A/05.

BPU is more of a MkIV Supra oriented acronym, which indicates a full 3" or larger exhaust from the turbos to the tailpipe, a Greddy BCC [boost cut controller], an intake and a boost controller [some people use a bleeder, some use a manual boost controller, and some go all-out with an electronic boost controller]. The average BPU MkIV makes 390hp at the wheels, but 430 or more at the wheels has been seen.

Really, MkIII guys use BPU sometimes now, but in the past our upgrades were expressed in stages.

You have to be kidding. That is way to complicated. Might as well just list your mods in your sig.

C/B/B/A/05 is too complicated? Its a few letters more with a number...

I'd think its actually shorter and tells you more...as opposed to BPU++++++++

That's way too complicated. I had to look back and forth to decipher that shit.

Orion... BPU horsepower is at least Stage 5 as far as MkIV to MkIII horsepower comparison.

..and your method does nothing to state horsepower. If someone says BPU++, you pretty much know they has over 400 to the wheels, and 500 at the crank. If I rebuilt my 7M with forged internals but left everything else stock, it could be considered a full race engine, but my horsepower level might still just be close to stock. Understand?

Someone posted it on SF a long time ago and I saved it. I'm surprised you havent seen ANY people use it because I've seen quite a few between SM and SF.

Someone said:
The fields used:
1/2/3/4/#

1 engine / power
2 suspension
3 brakes
4 interior
# Years of ownership

You place a letter in the entry field to notate your mod stage.
A stock
B mild
C advanced
D pro / race-custom ect

So, it's not super-structured, just a general guideline if you wanted to convey your ride.

If I said:
C/B/C/B/10
Now, wouldn't that convey more than BPU+?

You could even paste a little reminder key under your tag:
(E/S/B/I/#)

Don't just brush it off as silly. Think it over. 80% of the guy here post some type of uninformative notation in their sig now. Might as well make it more informative.

Jeff from SS started that letter number stuff. It never caught on.

BPU is applicable to all turbo cars. Much simpler too.
