the Mayan calendar say that the world will end on winter solstice 2012. scientists say that on that day, the earth, sun and the blackhole in the center of the milky way will be aligned and no one really says what will happen or not.

what do you believe will happen?

Oh for crying out loud. The Mayan calendar says literally SQUAT - it just ends. And this means what? We put out calendars that end every damn year, has any of those been hailed as a prediction for the end of the world? Uhhh... No. At least not by anyone sane.

If the Mayans were still around, they would probably put out... a NEW CALENDAR!

Misinterpretation of the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar is the basis for a New Age belief that a cataclysm will take place on December 21, 2012. December 21, 2012 is simply the last day of the 13th b'ak'tun. But that is not the end of the Long Count because the 14th through 20th b'ak'tuns are still to come.

The mayan's believed a start of a period of enlightenment on the end of the 13th b'ak'tun.
So all of this nonsense of the world ending and what not have got to stop. Not even the mayan's believed that.

It is strange that the Mayans, Chinese, and a couple of Greeks predicted the same date at different periods in time.

However, I've lived through 3 already so I'll believe it when I see it
