I took the intake off this week. Everything up to the head. Checked valve clearance and found a few off by 2 thou so those will be replaced. New shims on order.
Ordered up a bunch of new parts from Rock Auto, Toyota and Amazon:
Denso reman Starter (intake is off, no idea how old starter is now, why not replace it while it's easy?)
Denso Plug Wires (no idea on age of mine and the plastic pieces that grips the coils are weak, why not replace them?)
New gaskets (got OEM and FelPro to compare the two)
Fuel line crush washer-gaskets
Rear lower molding
Trans mount

I bought hood supports from Rock Auto which were not Toyota/ND/Aisin. I decided because the cost was too good, and Monroe makes struts and dampers for the industry. They are not left and right. New hardware (ball stud) goes in. Mine starting oozing out.
That's a shame. I've used non-Toyota struts on my Supra for 8 years. In that much time I'm on my 3rd set (first covered under warranty). Mine haven't been exceptional, but not bad enough to leak anything immediately. At about 1/3 the price of OEM I'll keep buying the aftermarket stuff. Mine have all been drop in replacements.
