I followed this guide when I got new targa seals all around and used a lot of clear RTV silicone and figured out to use a generous amount where the targa and drip rail meet enough to where it would come through the top side of the targa in the drip rail and just wiped off the excess. No leaks since.

the problem is getting new seals, toyota doesn't offer them any more. So i guess it's only way is new old stock for those seals.

Replaced a bad tail light to find my lights still not working. I could smell the blue smoke aroma from the failure box before even opening it.

Today I removed the head from the motor currently in my car. Took me 3.5 hrs since whoever had this JDM motor before me stripped 2 headbolts... Hopefully one of these two I have will pass the inspection of my machinist. Picking up my block tomorrow as well hopefully the finish is good for MHG. I think I read the RA needs to be below 25?

Finally got the suspension done and got rid of the terrible wheel gap in the front. I was going to try to hold out for Illumina II's, but I found a sweet deal on some Tein Street Advance coilovers instead.

So my dad brought home my block today, happy it got machined with the timing cover but... Worried that if I go MHG it won't seal, this will be my first time using a MHG so I might just be ocd . There is still some pits on the deck but he told my dad the RA on it was 15 microns. What do yall think, do I need to take it back?

Thanks chris_87_turbo, I wanted to do a deep blue to match interior but I didn't want it too flashy so I went with a wrinkle black, it came out alright for my first time. Metallic looks good tho.

I'd be worried too seeing stuff like that usually when I see blocks for MHG they are completely smooth. I'd ask your machine shop if that will affect it or not.

Went to a supra, RX7, NSX, and skyline meet that our local club organized and on the way to getting dinner my EGR cooler gasket completely blew and melted a hole in the 90 degree coolant hose that runs right by it. Had to stop to top off the coolant before we got to dinner and after we ate I got a ride to autozone to get some tools and a hose and wrapped the hose with foil to help protect it from the heat to get me home. We got a guy in our club that we call road side assistance he usually helps members or friends if their cars break down on the side of the road well today I took over his job and did my own road side assistance on my own car lol.

I got bored last week so I came up with a few color schemes for my valve covers.

Makes for a good wallpaper on my iPhone ;)

Also, I've been collecting GTE parts lately.

I painted mine to match the car along with the oil pan and some other parts. In fact painted the whole motor when I had it out of the car.
