The guy I bought my 88 red mk3 off of has a 89 he just put a 2jz swap into. His subframe is cracked right beside the diff on the passenger side. Have to look at the subframe closely if your going to increase the torque I would think.

Basically. If you're running well over stock power, then the torque can cause the diff mounts to rip out, in extreme cases. Usually what I see are cracks.

The po of my shell was running a 400 hp 2jz, and I'm running a BPU 7M. Not a trace of a crack.

Then again.. the shell has ZERO rust and only 100k on the clock.. ;D

Well my car doesn't have any rust, underside is literally covered with grime and such I guess it's been protecting it lol, and has 91k miles on it now.

I wouldn't be too worried about it. My old shell was rusty as hell, 220k on the clock, 10k of which were ran with the same BPU 7M which is in my current shell. And lets just say those 10k were not easy miles lol. Still no cracking.

Honestly, I wouldn't really worry about it until around 400 tq

Cool beans, I do need to clean the underside of my car though, badly. When I installed my downpipe I looked like Jason Statham in Transporter the oil scene.

You are the third person I have everything heard of recently that has managed to do this...(assuming you are talking rear subframe in half at the diff) .. Does anyone make a reinforcement kit of any kind for this issue... The other 2 have had less than 400hp

Subframe cracks or it doesn't. Inspection is kind of key.. lol

I boosted on Medium 22 psi and it went. The subframe is week on the first years of the mk3; they were reinforced in the 90's. I bet the other cases were not 90's models as well. I called my friend, (a fellow member here) the day he was scrapping the rear clip, and it is a 1990 model!!! Phew!!

My 89 has the reinforced subframe. I assume it was a pre 89 to post 89 change. However its always better to get the newest you can, lol

had that issue with removal in 1987 canadian model....

the internal nuts just tore the 2 tiny welds loose....

that subframe dosen't look delapedated, it could likely be repaired...

yes that's what I meant, the crappy tail light models had crappy subframes.

What is a medium 22psi of boost?... Lol

Haha, I have low med high and boost by speed. 22 psi was medium meaning high (29psi 580ft/lbs) would have caused some serious damage!

I am still pacing and thinking...I'm going to pull it and decide then. Thanks

550CC Precision injectors came in with a Walbro pump from a member on here, new O rings included woo. Plan on getting new tires, alignment, and then install these bad boys along with the Lex AFM and see how she runs. Hopefully it goes smoothly but with my luck it won't and the car will blow up then repair itself overnight.

Just filled her up and I've been having a problem where the pump won't stop until gas is running down the side of my car

Doat, it looks right.. but Idk if you're going to get them to pop in with the top o ring touching the other o ring lol

And Austin, it happens to me too. Just don't click the pump on max and it will shutoff without running down the side of the car
