Details on the car:

1JZ
61mm single
E-manage blue
272 Crower cams
93 Pump gas
17.5 psi(can't go higher because my fuel pump is maxed out)
MT ET Streets on RX7 rims at 15 psi

I was having a real hard time launching the car, it kept bogging out or spinning through 1st and then bogging 2nd and I was also having some missing problems on higher RPMs. Last year on street tires my best 1/8 mile trap was 93.xx Mph and I couldn't even come close to it this time out.

1st run - No burnout, bogged 1st bad and you can hear my car missing on top of 2nd and 3rd gears, hence the low trap.

60 foot - 2.520
330 foot - 6.523
1/8 mile - 9.389
1/8 MPH - 86.27
1000 foot - 11.764
1/4 mile - 13.702
1/4 MPH - 113.04

2nd run - Couldn't get a good burnout, spun through 1st and bogged 2nd.

60 foot - 1.987
330 foot - 5.914
1/8 mile - 8.751
1/8 MPH - 87.05
1000 foot - 11.105
1/4 mile - 13.061
1/4 MPH - 118.10

3rd run - Good burnout, bogged 1st and car was missing again.

60 foot - 2.121
330 foot - 5.730
1/8 mile - 8.490
1/8 MPH - 90.08
1000 foot - 10.783
1/4 mile - 12.701
1/4 MPH - 113.79

Next time I go out I will be installing an HKS DLI and some sort of launch control. Any other suggestions?

Here's my latest dyno on pump gas, so you guys can see why I keep bogging.

I can hre the missing up in the high rpm's. Do you have coil over plugs ign. I was looking at the dyno graph, are u revving the car past 7500 where the car is falling of the map? Just out of curosity. As far as the launching I heard it takes a lot of practice. Try riding the clutch a little bit I heard it helps out a bit. Other than that miss uptop the car sounds pretty good.

Car sounds great and makes good times. Just some drag suggestions, read THIS

on the runs where you spin then bog you need to learn how to pedal it so you end up at your shift point with your tires hooked up. Meaning, if you are still spinning tires when you shift your tire speed isnt matched up with your car speed, so when you shift you bog. Just mashing the pedal to the floor isnt always the fastest way off the line.

One of the drawbacks of having a 5speed is not being able to brake boost at the line. Once you get some launch control/2step/anti-lag setup your 60ft times will improve.

It's a 1JZ with coils which are brand new. The run that you see I revved 7,500+ RPMs and I never even shifted into 4th, but it was still missing on my 3rd run when I was shifting at ~7k and shifting into 4th before trapping. launching this thing is a pain because of turbo lag, I had to dump the clutch at 7k to prevent the car from bogging in the water box my last time out.

I don't drive the car like this on street, so this is something I need to practice on and et used to. When I shifted into 2nd I thought I was out of 1st gear, but I guess I still shifted too early.

It is going to help him do a burnout while not ruining his rear brakes. HELLO! :3d_frown:

Duane

LOL, well DUH! :biglaugh:

Not exaclty going to help his launch though, and I thought thats what we were discussing.

EDIT: I conceed that its useful for burnouts, its just when I read that post in relation to where the discussion was going I got the impression the poster thought that was used for getting off the line, which it is not.

What tire pressure were you at? I had similar problems when I went to the track, it was either spinning or bogging. I dropped the tire pressure to like 16 lbs or something like that and launched at 6K, and the car hooked. I was able to run a 12.67 with a shot suspension and almost 100 less rwhp than your setup.

I listed my tire psi up top. It was 15 psi. Last time out I tried launching at 6k but even that wasn't enough. I just bought a 2step, hopefully it'll help me.

On my old set-up I was building 7PSI off the line and leaving at 5200 RPM. I netted 1.5 and 1.6 60fts. ;) A 2 step will help you, trust me. :icon_bigg Let me know how it works out!

Those were some good runs. What tires are you running, the ET Streets or the ET Street Radials? Those were some pretty good times to with the mods that you have. I'm still on the 7M with a 60-1 turbo and I spin a lot. I'm saving for an AEM because it has a 2 step in it.

I hope you're not planning on buying it JUST because it has a 2-step. You can put a 2-step in on it's own if that's what you're looking for.

You can net 1.5 60's np with those as I have! :icon_bigg You just need to build boost off the line. You plan on doing the 2-step soon?

It should be here on wednesday and I'll wire it in as soon as I get it. The one I got is from Rush racing. They call it an anti-lag, but people say it only makes ~10 psi.

10 PSI is more than enough. As I said, I was making 7PSI and making good 60 ft times. Keep us posted in this thread later!

No, I'm tired of my Lex AFM and HKS SAFR combo. I would like more control, to control timing and would love to have a little higher redline and the elimination of the AFM. I'm not just getting it for a 2-step.
