From everything I have read, 7m's tend to have an overheating problem. Well mine has an underheating problem, lol. My car takes absolutely forever to warm up, I drive 15 miles to work every morning and it will be starting to get warm as I get there. Not only that, but after it is warmed up, if I go down a hill, it cools itself off again. My temp gauge will never go above the 3rd mark from Cold. Although at this mark it will blow heat, like its all the way warmed up.

I just replaced my thermostat and I have my electric fan temporarily wired to a switch so I have ruled those 2 out. What else could cause this issue?

Thank you,
Chris

What rated temp/brand thermostat?

Did you test it prior to installing?

Is there an aftermarket radiator on the car, and if so, what brand/thickness?

It is an OEM thermostat, bought it at a toyota dealer. Im not sure on the rating.

I did not test it, but im getting ready to remove it for testing.

The car has a stock radiator.

Hmm, I will have to pull out my thermostat and test it tomorrow then.
