Yes. i didnt know you could use 2j ones, in that case ill just go to the local parts store. thanks guys!

Yes they work there is one little wave or bend in them that is not in the 1JZ streighten it out & it works fine! Add a very fine beed of permatec high temp silcon around the cam shaft bearing bends maybe spread it thin on the seal to should last you a long time.

I also heard the 7M ones work but to play it safe I kept it JZ.

I used the Toyota gasket stuff (FIPG) and just reused my old gaskets. Seems to work well with no leaks.

I will be doing the same exact thing very soon, ill post my results; hopefully the same as yours!

I can't see it not working or leaking unless you do a bad job of putting gasket maker on.

I installed my 2jz ones 2 years ago with out gasket maker and i havent had a single problem. It still is very smart to use the gakset maker for extra protection.

You mean 2JZ ones from pepboys? Or do they actually sell 1jz ones too? That would be something new.
