... girlfriend visited for a couple of hours ;) then left for her traditional valentine's day dinner with her girl friends... I'm not complaining...

But I am taking her out on Thursday... I just don't believe in making any special plans on a day whose sole purpose is to allow restaurant and shop owners to double their prices.

My plans, single rose, card and dinner. Then some premarital sinning :)
Just got back from my girlfriends house. ;)
And Nate, you know what they say about guys that only get one rose.
Guy: "I got you one rose, because you are one sweet flower."
Girl: "You got one rose, because you are one cheap bastard!"

J/K man, You can never go wrong with that set-up as long as you make it special. I just like to get creative.

Valentine was beheaded for banging another mans wife. Many versions, although I believe not to be true based on the holiday now, say he was beheaded for helping Christians. Although that is believable too. For the actual holiday, it is another pagan tradition that Catholics made into a holiday by simply renaming it after a famous romantic, although that was like saying Bill Clinton is romantic. Snopes has never had a validation of any version that I have found.

My wife knows, and lives with my view on the day. It is the same as all the others. She is treated like she should be every day.

It seems to be that single people consider Valentine's day nothing but commercialism, and those who have somebody either don't think anything of it, or note that it's commercialism yet celebrate anyway. Having been married for several years, I get tired of hearing about how the holidays I like most are useless and tacky because the speaker has nobody to celebrate with, but I also understand, because I was the exact same way before I met drunk_medic. I think it's important to show your loved one that they're loved every day, but there's nothing wrong with doing something a little more special once or twice a year, and if a flower shop or fancy restaurant make some extra cash because of it, no skin off my back.

I gave the GF something she wanted... Black Carpet for her MKIV (card & chocolates, etc)... her B-day is this weekend and yesterday allowed me to hook her up with something else she wanted. Supports our Supra-vendors (Thanx Curt).

She wants alot of stuff for her ride, so I have to spread the love/gifts around a bit ;-) She's gonna LOVE what she gets for her B-day!

Isn't BJ-day, "every other day?" :evil5:

Good job, aye mate. You've got your act together, a hell of a lot more than the guy who thinks boost will get him laid ;).

Lol, some of the rest of you are a riot. Reminds me of when I was younger and how little I knew about women. Lord, if I only knew then what I know now. Trust me, Valentine's Day is a small price to pay. Lucky we don't celebrate March 8th in the US or you'd have to do it all over again in a few weeks. I have to because my better half is Russian. She is worth every penny and them some.

Lol, she's not mail order but I understand that's a big business these days. I met her years ago when I was working at Chernobyl. I would say she's one in a million but far from it. They're the best women on Earth, hands down. I'd kill to be in my 20's again as most of the younger ones are drop deap gorgeous. I tell ya, I don't know why any guy would deal with American girls after being exposed to Slavic chix. Once you have it's impossible to go back.

awww... I was hoping for an enemy. and on a side note, and not that it matters nor does it demonstrate where I get my automotive knoweledge....
I was at Advance today, getting the valve cover gaskets for my 82, and caliper for the Cressida, wiper blades, and some degreaser, a little thing came on about how to read the numbers on the oil bottle... IT said that 20w50 was a good all weather oil, I immediately thought of you Jetcock. :gaybar:

No, they don't glow in thedark but they sure do put out a lot of heat at certain times ;). Chernobyl is actually a fascinatng place. I've been all over the Exlcusion Zone. It's a beautiful area today, filled with abundant wildlife that wasn't there before the people left. The abandoned cities and villages are kind of spooky though.

Supraman18: Friends are better than enemies. All weather oil? Sure, if you lived in the tropics ;)
