Hello fellow supra mania members, I am after some advise/pics. I have a supra in the making a 1990 wide-body that will have a twin turbo 1uz-fe with twin turbo's....eventually. The body is almost ready for paint. I absolutely love supra's in black! but my 90 is red and i really like it as well. So i want to combine my likings into one car. I want YOUR input! Can a two-tone look good on our MKIII's and how would you do it? I have seen a few examples before and am still on the fence what to do. So please tell me how you would do a two tone red and black or\and show a picture if possible...don't be shy to tell me what you think would look stupid as i am open minded about the color at this stage. btw the red will be a deep red with gold flake. Obliviously it's down to personal taste but i want idea's and hopefully lots of them.
Thanks in advance:icon_bigg

If it were my car and a blank canvas, I'd take one color (to my taste, black) and make it the primary. The secondary color would be used for accents, such as the trim.

I had a similar idea to this, as my car used to be red too. I was thinking everything above where the window meets the door would be black, with the roof, a-, and b-pillars being black, everything else below that red. Kinda similar to what you see on the 4th gen Camaros that had black top halves...

How about the kind of paint where you see black at one angle and then red at another angle?

How about old school black with red ghost flames? or black/ cherry metal flake? dorky answer or cool??:: angry :::naughty:

Nissan has a VERY nice looking black cherry paint on some of their newer cars, would suit my car quite well. :)

If you like that black cherry Nissan color then go with it. All one color. I'm not a big fan of two tone color schemes. It just looks like the owner couldn't decide on his favorite two colors and just slapped both colors on. If not done right it'll look just like every other lame two tone paint jobs because they wanted to be "different"... just like everybody else.

Highlighting the trim, mirrors, emblems, mudflaps, and other accent pieces another color to make them stand out looks terrible to me. Another just want to be "different" idea that doesn't look right.

That's just my opinion. Everybody is different.

I'm liking everyone's input... like the black with red pearl idea, that would be one hot looking MK3. I have two months to decide, i traded my black 89 rolling body for a paint job :) which i think is a good deal. I can provide pictures of the car although it isn't pretty its just a wide-body that's 3 colors atm lol black red and orange.
