well i found my build thread. :biglaugh: but it is more than 766 days old haha so here is a new one

couple years later..

so much has changed in the car since i started modding it. and the path has also changed quite a few times.

with the car nearing its completion i figure id share the build with everyone

i guess ill start off with the typical parts list and car description so here goes

the car:

1986 jdm ma70. the car had 160 000 original kms on the body and i was told around 80000 on the tired 7m. now the original plan was to keep the 7m and focus mainly on chassis mods and build the engine at a later date. I soon scrapped that idea and decided to jump up to a jz platform for obvious reasons.

the car was unmodded when i bought it and then it sat untouched in my garage for close to a year.

that rps carbon/carbon is one sweet mother, have you used it yet? I have been shopping for a twin disk let us know how it feels. rest of the build looks great to, like the white.

thanks for the good feedback!

drewsh666:
the works are -7 in the back

those white wheels are Kranze Shoki's and the rears are -27 haha. unfortunately they dont fit, even with the widebody. im sure i could make it work with more camber, but im happy with equips for now

staticpage:
the rps carbon/carbon is an awesome clutch. SOOO smooth, yet the pedal feel is still kind of aggressive which i like. and they have a new design which apparently stops the flywheel from grenading which is good. i broke it in last year and drove it a bit before my slave went.

true story actually i have the first rps carbon/carbon for the 1jz. i ordered the clutch from rps and explained to the guys that i have a 2jz and an r154 and he assured me that he can make it work. so they changed the spline on the discs to that of a r154 but left me the getrag pressure plate. needless to say the pressure plate had clearance issues in the r154 so i told rps of my dilema.

they replied and ask me for the correct measurements so i would have no clearance problems and told me that they were going to make me a clutch from scratch specifically for my application. i thought that was pretty cool of them

so ya. i got the first one :p and i wouldnt hesitate to deal with rps in the future

What's your goals with this setup

i want to drift. i built it to drift. although i wont be competing in the local series due to a few deficiencies in the roll cage. So this year will be mainly practice and focus on learning the car really well. then go full out next year, if anything im sure it will be a good show.
