Hey guys/gals,

Another question for you: lately when I signal turns at night with the lights on and with the left blinker only, I'll hear a quick buzz and the lights (including headlights) will turn off for a quick second. They immediately come back on, but it's just kinda weird. I'm wondering if the contacts for the stalk are just worn out? I know the easy solution is to not signal turns, but I'm polite...:biglaugh: Ideas???:1zhelp:

I looked in the TSRM and they are the same unit for LH and RH, but I guess one side might be having problems.

I drove an '88 that was doing this badly. The bezel on the headlamp switch was broken, causing it to rotate when you touched the stalk to signal. Yours may be starting to go south.

My turnsignals do not even work anymore.....i just use my hands...

seriously though,

when I bought the car last year they worked....up until I put on the nardi steering wheel and hub....seems I might of knocked something loose?

hmmmmm....I am so lazy I havent even ATTEMPTED to diagnose the stupid problem...turn signals are NOT my biggest quandry right now:biglaugh:

The switch is expensive from the dealer, like $250. maybe a boneyard might have one.:icon_razz

Nope, it's about $90.

That's for the stalk and mounting. Not the entire combination switch though (no wiper control, etc).

Do you have a picture of all theparts your refering to? is it just the left side stalk?

I was referring to this, it's just the stalk, so it's not the signal switch itself, that's about $10 - 30 depending on year you need it for. The high beam switch is a bit more, about $70.

You only need to replace what you're having trouble with. I'd suggest just finding a good used one actually.

Good luck.

Thanks for the pic, Jeff. I'm going to try to source out one here, but the junkyards are pretty scarce for Supra parts. I think it's just the stalk itself or the contacts inside the plastic covers. Not too worried, better than a BHG!

I had a similar problem, bought a combination switch off of the board. cost me $30 easy to swap out the entire piece.

Just a thought
