Well. If you have the pre-89.5 mounts, which are square, then you can get the 89.5+ mounts which are round and fluid filled. These will allow you to swap in a 1jz/2jz motor in the future.

Other than that, you can get some solid mounts like aluminum, but that will just make your car rattle alot more.

The only reason you will want to upgrade is when you are making huge power, and the stockers can't take it.

not quite. motormounts are specific to the year of the car, as in 86.5-88 are the square ones, and 89-92 are the round ones.

and to take the discussion even further: you CANNOT put 89+ round mounts on a pre '89 without swapping out the crossmember/subframe. they aren't interchangable. if they were, you'd see half the '89+ guys switching thiers out for the early style...
