I recently purchased a motor that supposedly has TRD pistons and TRD rods in it. Started tearing down. Its bored .50mm over and its been gone thru. I didnt purchase it based on TRD parts, I just needed a spare motor.
Anyways. Anyone ever have either of these? Im trying to identify if they are TRD or not. I know the rods have a different casting number than my other three factory motor rods do.
Pistons have numbers on them, but dont have Toyota cast in like the factory. I have heard Mahle made the pistons for TRD and they werent forged. Thats pretty much what I know.
Just trying to figure out what they are. Anyone that has or had with any info let me know.
