I searched didn't find the answer, possibly wrong keywords, but who knows... Anyway, 88 7MGTE w/ R154, car won't go in to first grinds, spits out of gear, yada yada yada, bad first gear thrust washer whatever! Anyway, my question is this, can you pull the transmission without unbolting the bellhousing from the motor? A friend of mine who is a huge ford guy said mustangs do this all the time, especially when they know they have a good clutch and just a messed up gear. I have someone to fix the tranny but I just want to know this little bit of info before I go pulling everything when all I need to do is pull the main unit. Thanks in advance, if you take the time to search and actually find the answer, just post it here, I'm fine with being pointed to the answer. Thanks again.

No you cannot seeing the bolts the bolt the bell housing to the trans are inside the the housing along with the clutch.
