oh please don't say that...my poor old W58 shifter rattles like change in a dryer, i need it to last for at least another 3 months!

If you are in a bind, there is a temp fix for the driveshaft bearing.

Go to the parts store, get some urethane windshield sealer, its in a caulk tube. Fill the driveshaft bearing with it from the outside holes, and let it dry for a day. It's worked for me so far, about 4k miles.... It just has to hold until I get my 1 piece driveshaft.

ofcourse it reduces the stiffness of the car, and if you hit a bump everthings going to shake. But your car should not shake just riding down the road. top out or not. its not normal.
