And I still find it strange they used the NA cars still.

the 86.5's were all NA. in 87 they had the turbo cars... in 88 it was a Celica.

So this is a good video. I found it on SF once lol

NA is more responsive, less parts to fail, runs cooler and is far more controllable. Could you imagine running a decent HP turbo on dirt the thing would be a prick to drive. An NA car you could run close to flatout whereas a turbo car you'd be constantly working the throttle out of a corner it'd just lack power down way too much.

Sure it makes more power but it doesn't make it faster.

Rally cars now and days use turbos that have anti-lag. Even without anti-lag the cars are almost always at high RPM and traveling pretty damn fast so the turbos are pretty much always spooling anyways. The only place I could see an N/A supra winning against a turbo is a series of sharp turns with really short straights, and even then I'd say it would be close.
