Tire Size

hey i wanted to know whats the largest size tire than i would be able to fit on a 17x7.5 rim..... was hoping 275 or 285 but i was unsure if it is going to fit my best guess is 255?? Need quick response thanks

Here's 255 on a 7". As you can see, it's way too much tire. I wouldn't go past 245 on a 7.5". Any more and you're not gaining any contact patch, it's just curling around.

I have 255 on an 8", and that's pushing it a little. (the front tires)

Thats my car in the first pic. 255's are alot of rubber on a 7" rim, but that tire is also inflated to 40 psi! Running them down at 10 psi will make for a better contact patch. That is within mickey thompsons recomended rim sizes. That is also the only 16" ET street MT makes.

I think i paid 325 total for the pair!

For a drag racing application, it's a good idea. For regular use, not so much.

You still have those tires by any chance?

I sure do. Never ran them once. I wouldnt mind selling them to buy slicks for my mk4 TT rims.

*That also is a 245/50/16 on the front of my car.* FYI.

planning on gettin wider rims but at the moment gonna have to stick with what i got i guess 245 is the way to go if no , thing i i had gotten 245 for the front already not think about if it was too wide oh well....
