Tire Size

Here's 255 on a 7". As you can see, it's way too much tire. I wouldn't go past 245 on a 7.5". Any more and you're not gaining any contact patch, it's just curling around.
I have 255 on an 8", and that's pushing it a little. (the front tires)
Thats my car in the first pic. 255's are alot of rubber on a 7" rim, but that tire is also inflated to 40 psi! Running them down at 10 psi will make for a better contact patch. That is within mickey thompsons recomended rim sizes. That is also the only 16" ET street MT makes.

To the OP, I would use a 245 as a max tire size, but it will still be a little bit too big. I say get some wider wheels if you want to stuff more rubber under the car.

Toyota had a deal on MT slicks, and that was the only 16" slick on sale.
