timing Q

ok so i replace the CPS on my car and I whant to know what do you guys your timing set to is it to stock like the TSRM or do you have it more adv or retarded. Thanks

i reset mine to 10deg after i put in the r154.Before it was on 15deg.Seems a big luggy now but that could be lag?

ok. I see so everybody is running the stock timing.has anybody try adv the timing to see if it gains any with out pining

the ECU always thinks the timing is set to 10deg BTDC
if your engine is worn and needs say 3deg advanced the ecu does this however still reads 10deg BTDC when you put your strobe on it, so if you advance your engine to 15 you could efectivly be running 18-20, its up to you.

to make it easier on you

jumper the diagnostics box e1 and t1
set timing to 10 via the cps
tighten the bolt down

take out the jumper wire

and itll bump to 12..which is where you want to be.
