It's much bigger than a stock CT26, even bigger than a 57mm CT-26. I don't see why it would be slower, unless you aren't used to the lag.

david your car will be a hoss and spool quick once you get your tune right and up the boost trust me i have heard way to many good things about that turbo! i got that from mdc and it has the 9cm. housing which spools quick you should have full boost by 3200 rpm at max with that housing!

Not to thread jack, but one of my friends told me I wont like the spool of the HX35, and it is not on a T4 exhaust housing flange, is it some other flange?

I have a ct26 on now, and I want to go with a larger turbo, and I can get a good HX35 for free, from a friend, I am not worried about the spool of it, as much as I am worried about the flange. So would someone like to let me in on what flange it is on. I have looked around a little, but didn't find anything really, plus it would be better coming from someone that has experience with the turbo.

the hx35 is t3 i believe and you can use a t4 manifold with a t3 to t4 riser/spacer. i also believe the hx35 is twin scroll (divided). the flange is either a 5 bolt flange or a v band. either can be used.

There are two versions of the HX-35. The pre-2002.5 8-blade compressor that is an undivided T3 and puts out 52lbs-min and the post-2002.5 7-blade that is a divided T3 that puts out 60lbs-min.

Also, whoever says they don't like the spool must not love awesome quick/violent spool. That was my favorite part about the turbo.

I have a HX52 "Super 52". It has a billet comp wheel. Excuse the mess, the car has a lot of zip ties holding everything together while I can fab up parts to mount stuff...

david i think you will be set once you figure that out! what wg are you using? and def. look for boost leaks.

Just an HKS knockoff 50mm. I can't get a replacement spring for it. Idk, maybe it's just been that long since I've drove my car, I forgot what it feels like?? :( I'm saddened by this.

also if i had to give an opinion on a little lag but top end and still streetable the hx40 would be a great choice, they have BEP housing you can swap on as well to aid that. just my opinion as far as streetability but now a days supras are rocking big ass turbos and calling it streetable haha
