tacoma 7mgte swap.

I was thinking about trying to swap a 7mgte into a tacoma. I have an extra engine, and all the parts necassary, but not sure of a few things.

What year is the best. to swap into.

do the engine mounts line up.

4x4? possible

difficulty with wiring?

anybody whose done this I would appreciate some advice.

I'm going to swap a 7m-gte into a 83 corolla before long. imagine the power to weight ratio with about 400 hp on tap

gixxer- good luck with that. have fun with converting frontwheel to back wheel drive. unless the 83 corrola was rwd but i dout it.

I may have to email him in the future.
I just found an 87 tacoma for 200 obo, so i have everythign i need now. now all i need is time. lol and a little help here and there.

The Tacoma didnt come out until 95 or something. Try an older pickup. Something like a 90-92 with a decent body still. The auto trans is of the A34 series. The manual is an R series, with the V6 models. Of course it has been done many times. I too have seen the websites.

Im not 100% that all the older pickups with a V6 had the R series, but some did.

ok so this is what ive got. its a 87 toyota pickup 4 cyl w 4wdrive manual 200

or

92ish 2wdrive 5 speed. for about same price.

both 4 cyl i think. so i dont know if tranny will be ok or not.
