Here is a couple more on track videos of my mk4, and if you look near the beginning of my page there is a lot of video of my mk3 at Road America, and Blackhawk Farms.

From the MAP Proving Grounds 2012, Brainerd International Raceway Competition course, first time to the track.

Out of car Auto-x of the mk4 at usair. The end of the video is the best imo.

Yeah it is definitely pretty funny but that VUE is not too bad out there, and definitely still fun for the driver. The guy driving it is currently building a road race oriented Datsun 510 so once that is done the VUE will probably be retired. We are hoping to fire the car up soon.
I like how you say "probably" be retired. Sayings like that tend to lead to spending "just a little" bit of money on cars you never thought you would spend money upgrading, and before you know it, you have a toaster on wheels keeping up with the best of them out on the auto-x.

What happened in that third video, seems like you suddenly lost front end grip?

Yeah we will see what he decides to do with the VUE. Can't wait to see his 510 out there.

As for the sudden loss of grip, a car in front of me dropped fluid on the track (coolant) leading to the sudden grip lose. This never happened to me before and it was pretty scary/unexpected from the drivers seat. Woh woh wooooh!

510's are badass. One of the reasons I've always liked that guy whose name I can't remember (edit: Adam Corolla) at the moment... he has at least a couple old BRE 510's, and they are awesome. Actually races them and drives them too!

That makes sense with the coolant, that shit is slippery. At least this was at a track, sucks when you hit sudden patches of debris or just poor road conditions on normal streets. They drop sand here to combat snow/ice on occasion, and we have a particular on-ramp around here that is one of the clover-style types. Kinda bumpy, since it has been quite a while since any proper maintenance has been done to it. Anyway, on my way over to the girlfriend's parents one night, we hit a patch of sand, and I learned that night that I'm not really a natural drifter haha. Managed to keep it on the road and avoid hitting the snow-poles (road markers), but still... I panicked more or less.

Stupid winter. :p
