Does it make a big difference? I got a set of GOLD platted with my deck and I'm wondering if its even worth splicing and installing them. I mean it couldn't hurt but does it make a big diff?

If you are going to be running the speakers straight off the deck, I wouldn't bother unless your factory wires are deteriorated (the wire quality maybe a bit better otherwise, but not enough to justify the time spent running them). If you do decide to run new wires between the headunit and speakers, go with something better than what came with it. If you ever decide to run an amp, definitely completely rewire using decent wiring (not the stuff that came with the headunit).
