So there i was parked, with the engine off. I tried to start the car but didn't get a response, just a clicking noise. Noticed some smoke tho, like burning plastic/rubber. Didn't think much of it because there was a car with a smoking exhaust that had just passed. I tried to crack it again and noticed the smoke again. That when i realized it was coming from my mk3. I opened th bonnet but there was only the slightest scent of the burning plastic/rubber smell. After having looked around and saw no obvious problem, i tried to start it again with no result. We had to push start the damn thing.
Now my question, after having read a car maintenance manual, i noticed that when try to start it, i can hear the clicking from the solonoid. Does that mean my starter is still okay, just jammed or something or do i just have to replace the damn thing?
