Was wondering what it takes to put a non airbag wheel on a 90-92 car.

Bought this car recently with an aftermarket wheel. Want to install a 89 wheel or maybe a 3 spoke mk4.

Not sure what to change so cruise works on at least the 89 wheel.

If a 90 has the separate cruise stalk like the 91-92's, its gone off mine.

Or I'll just get the 90 stuff and put it back to original. I just like the 3 spoke wheels.

Safety first, make sure your battery is disconnected before attempting to remove the current, airbag equipped wheel. TSRM should have a procedure for doing it.

As for making it work, shouldn't be anything particularly special. The 89-90 had a 3-spoke wheel with cruise controls on the wheel, the 91-92 had the four spoke airbag wheels with cruise on the third stalk, if I recall.

I was thinking of using the 89 or a mk4 wheel. Didn't realize the cruise stalk was on the wheel. I hate buying cars that people tore apart. I ended up with another 90 car for parts, so I might just throw on the 90 wheel for now.

Disconnect battery for airbag. Yep, not my first rodeo
