EDIT: Most recent pic
Ok time for me to start one of these. As you can see im another Australian, but my girlfriend was born and bred in Chicago - its actually quite convinient for getting stuff shipped to her parents' place, but dont tell her I said that!:naughty:
Anyway, ive just acquired my 4th consecutive Supra (this being my third A70). Here was my last JZA70 R...
was a great car, loved it to death but sold it on a whim when someone offered me good money and didnt look back.
led me onto this... Series 2 JZA80 RZ
great car, nice and new, reliable, big step up from the JZA70 but too much money tied up and to be frank, lacking the "feel" of the A70 - the A70 is a FAR cooler car, even though its not as advanced. Anyhow, sold this 2 months ago.
And bought this...(this is what the build-up thread is haha)
Compliance plate says it a 1990 but its the non-update (so maybe its an '89?) JDM MA70 Limited with a manual 1JZ conversion (R154) out of a JZA70 front cut. Obviously not as original as my ol' JZA70 R but it has some worthy mods and fresh paint, which are the reasons I picked it up. Has a whole range of annoying little shit which needs rectifying soon before I can be happy enough to drive it but it will be a work in progress.
Updated modifications list:

1JZ GTE
ATI Crank Damper
Lightened pulley kit
HKS adjustable cam gears
HKS fine tune timing belt

Cusco carbon fibre front and rear strut braces
KTS rear hatch brace
Arizona Performance Wilwood 4 piston brake upgrade
Exterior
Full respray in Ford Ego (metallic gun metal grey)
Genuine Turbo-A duct (not currently fitted)
Colour coded exterior mouldings
JZA70 vented front lip
Aus delivery half amber/half clear front turn signals
Aus delivery fog lights
Aftermarket projector headlamps
18x9 & 10 Lenso D1R wheels (satin black)
Interior
Recaro SR3 front seats
TRD gear shift knob
Personal steering wheel
Back seat removed
Blitz 300 km/h Speedometer
Analouge JZA70 dash
Goals:
I always dreamed of taking my JZA70 R to the race track to see what lap times it could do, but I never got the chance as there was too much stuff to fix. My RZ (being a much more sound car) was up to the task and as a result, I am now hooked on circuit driving, there is nothing more thrilling to do in a car IMHO). So, my goal for this car is the initially finish off the exterior to get it looking the part and then get going on the suspension and cooling to make it reliable at the race-track.
Still to do before heading to the race track!
