The front speakers on 91's and above ar 6 1/2 and the backs are still 5 1/4, Have you looked along the top sides of your backseat yet? There should be speakers there too. Wht are you trying to do? Change out speakers or just curious? Cuz Im Curious....

So just to clear things up:

1986.5 supras had the different radio harness IIRC.

1986.5-1990 Toyota Supra
FRONTS: 4"
REARS: 5.25"

1991-1992 Toyota Supra
FRONT: 6.5"
REAR: 5.25"

1989-1992 Toyota Supra
SIDE REARS: 3.5"

The rear speakers are originally oblong (football-shaped kinda) speakers so aftermarket 5.25" would need to be sealed around the edges since it may have holes where sound can leak out that can cause crappy sound quality, although rear speaker setup sucks already ;)

^^^ IIRC in my late 89 the rears (both sets) were 4". I have pics in my photobucket, but at this time (at work) I can not view my photobucket due to firewall blocking it :(

Then karmasupra needs to fix 1990 to 1992 cuz my supra has side panels and its a 90...

To the original poster... Just buy a wiring harness... You can find it at best buy, Circuit City, Car audio store no matter wht it is, Flea Market for cheap... 5 bucks even and just connect the aftermarket radio wires matching the ones on harness but read and make sure they are the same thing 1st... Dont just go on colors.. Then plug it to your original factory harness and your set... All 6 speakers will sound... They are all wired to that orginal harness from toyota :D... Easy...

Some 89s have those extra rear speakers too. If you get some aftermarket get 3.5 inch as most 4" wont fit without lots of work. They run off the same signal wires as the other rears (they T off).

^ actually i was the one that organized that (my fault) but yeah i edited it now, forgot that the 89's had the side panel speakers too! but im wondering as ms07s said, if they t-off to the other rear speakers, then why the hell did they even put those speakers on there

Ok, So I assume you tried hooking it up and you have wht? 4 wires left.... 2 negatives and 2 postives for the two other speakers.... This is wht you do... You simply get connectors and feed off the rear speakers.... Yes, connect two speakers off one channel.... Will this hurt your speakers or radio... No if you get the right kind of speakers... I kno you can do this with Kickers and Polks, now n days they come ready so you can power 2 sets off one channel... I must say, most aftermarket radios come with just 4 speaker outputs soo thats not the problem... The harness seems odd to me because most of them already come with a bridge for the specific car they are made for... I am thinking since there were difrent supras from 86 to 1992 that you got the harness from one of the older models soo the harness only came ready for 4 speakers.... You can get another harness.. ( the right one) or just do a lil fix on your current one and you should be fine.. See, Easy :icon_bigg
