I tried a little bit more. I got a 49.029 on my 3rd try but 15 minutes after that, no use. Pics tomorrow.

damn I wish I could participate so bad dude. My stupid PS2 wont play the game anymore. There are no scratches on it whatsoever, but it still wont play. I took the ps2 apart and cleaned it using some compressed air and it would finally play it again, but the gf took the damn game out to watch a movie while I was at work last wk and it hasnt played since. Any suggestions guys? I think Ill just take it apart and clean it again, hopefully that will work. Oh and its the old ps2, not the new smaller ones

My ps2 was from the first run of them way back in the impossible to get days and it works just fine still. Hell, even my NES still works great.

thats what i had to do last week, mine would'nt play anything, games, dvds, cd's nothing at all but now i'm back. those slim ones are tiny and the internet is internal so you can sell the other piece from the big ones... speaking of anyone need the internet hook up piece for the large ps2?

I havent abused mine, not to my knowledge anyway. Ive had mine ever since the day it was released to the public. Besides it plays all my other games fine, it just seems to get pissy as hell whenever I throw gt4 in there. Eh I dunno, I would go ahead and get a slim one, but with the ps3 on the horizon I just see doing that as a waste of money (money that will be going towards the completion of my sup). Ive been doing some research on it though, and it appears as though this is a common issue with the early ps2s.

ah, well it was sitting on the floor of my room for quite some time. And it was quite quite dusty, lol. Maybe something I missed in there the last time I cleaned it is interfering with it. Or it could be due to all of the pollen we get here in NC during the fall, everything turns yellow because of it. If I clean it and it still doesnt work I guess Ill be waiting for the ps3 until I can play it again.

Yeah, I skipped school to get mine on launch day, and it only occasionally throws fits. Get a DVD lens cleaner, we have a wood burning stove to heat the house, so I just run it through a cleaning cycle or two every spring and don't have any probs w/ it. I also agree with taking it apart and "dusting" it.
If you adjust down force they do, I put mine on 5 for the rear and 3 for the front, helps stick the rear tires when coming out of a turn.
If you guys wanna increase your times you'll go a little faster with the driving aids off (You wont have them braking during turns for you), but it takes alot of getting used to.
