Single turbo 1jz vs. GTR

So my friend bought a new GTR this weekend and we decided to have some fun seeing that our cars should be making very similar power (I'm in the low 400's or so on 16psi) Here are a few videos, I did a photoshoot for him to so I might post some pics of the GTR once I get them uploaded.

Dead even with the gtr from about 55-130 and he slowly pulled about half a car on me. I suspect aerodynamics were becoming a factor and he had an advantage there.

The dig video you're just going to have to watch when you get home because there is no explaining what a cluster fuck that video is! lol!

Thanks for the compliments guys. He has a bunch of stuff waiting to go on the GTR and I have a few things I'm going to do to mine soon so we'll have more videos in the future with 2 faster cars!

Another local guy. You can see him in one of the videos too. He has a bad wheel bearing so he wasn't racing but rest assured he would have beat both of us by a long shot.

Carbon fiber is lighter than stock no? From the looks of his setup it looks like he has a stock hood and trunk. I like the sleeper look though:naughty:

Still a clean Supra though, i bet no one in his right mind with a vtec or a ls1 would try and enter the parking lot where you guys were at hehe......

Carbon fiber replacement parts has no positive effect on the aerodynamics of a car. In some cases it may make it worse, also the weight savings in the hood and hatch would make a very little difference in any of these races.

Setup is a garrett 61mm on a stock 1jz, running 2jz cams. I'm running a 2jz ecu so sequential fuel injection. Unfortunately its an aristo ecu so my redline is 6800 which is killing me! Tuning it with a map ecu 2.

Moves out nice for the mods! Almost have that GTR.

Thanks! I've always been a fan of your car. Those pie cuts used throughout your setup have always amazed me. You wouldn't be interested in making a 4" downpipe would you?

I forgot to mention for fuel I'm running mkiv 550's and a walbro, about to step that up so I can get some more boost out of this setup.
