I'm looking at shipping a car from Vermont to Wisconsin and was wondering if anybody on here had prior experience shipping a car and if it went well or had any shippers to recommend. I won't be able to look at the car in person and was also wondering if anybody on here that's reputable would look at it for me. It's a 70 barracuda in Milton, Vermont. I know its not a supra, but this community has been nothing but helpful to me over the years and thought it may be a good place to ask.
Thanks,
Ryan

Ps, I didn't really know where to post this. Mods please move to a better category if it should be somewhere else.

I used Nationwide Transport to ship my new Supra from SoCal to Wisconsin. My rep was a guy named John Halko. I was nervous about it, but I wasn't about to fly there and drive it cross country. All in was $1200, but she was transported in an enclosed carrier the entire way. She was in good company too!

Good Luck.

Ben

Yes, I bought Nick's car. Although it is thought of by many to be complete, there are actually plenty of things to be done.

I've shipped several cars, but have never used a fully enclosed setup like the one Ben shows above. It all depends on what you're willing to pay and what you're willing to put up with.

Some examples:

- I shipped an Acura Legend from Pennsylvania to CA for $800 - single job, meaning my car was the only car being shipped.

- I used http://www.dasautoshippers.com/ to ship my RX8 from Texas to CA for $525. They give you an instant quote online, but they operate terminal to terminal, or you can pay extra for pick up services. I chose terminal to terminal on an open truck. That's why it was so inexpensive.

- I used a broker type shipper from http://www.haulingdepot.com/ to ship my Infiniti from Texas to CA for $495. That's a service where you tell them what you're interested in and you get about a billion quotes in your email inbox, all competing for your business. It can be annoying, but it worked. I picked the one I was most comfortable with and it worked out fine. There are many sites that do that. Hauling Depot is just one of them.
