shifter busing falls into the tranny

Hi guys. so i think my shifter bushing fell into the tranny today. The bushing on the ball end of the shifter. I know this because the lever got stuck in a certain place in neutral and i wobbled it and it became real sloppy. How do i fish it out? Can i still drive it like this?

It will get chewed up by the gears basically instantly. Ask me how I know...

I just flushed the tranny, put in new gear oil, and bought a new bushing.

I drove mine for over a year with no bushing (didn't know it had fallen off)...honestly, I couldn't feel any difference once I installed the new one.

happened to me too, it feels a tiny bit sloppy but not much. here's a tip though.... take care with the old oil.. it stinks really bad like all gear oil......it will ruin anything...don't ask ME how I know..lol

because the metal on metal had opened the hole up...

loose shifter = repair or risk damaging the tranny...

EDIT: the ONLY gear oil I've ever messed with that didn't stink to high heaven was Red Line MT-90... not to mention it's GREAT for your transmission...
