Sheet Metal Help

I have a fuel cell mounted in my trunk. I cut the floor of the trunk out and mounted the cell is basically the same spot as the stock fuel tank. Of course, I need some sheet metal to form a bit of a "firewall" between the cockpit and the fuel cell. I was thinking of doing something like in the attached picture. What spec metal should I use? I was thinking maybe just some standard 18ga steel sheet metal.

I don't see why 18 gauge wouldn't work.

Use the something like 0.025 aluminum sheet. Just make mounts so you can bolt it or fasten it some how to the chassis.

i'd get a few pieces and take to a sheet metal shop where they've got a bending brake and can also sturdy it up by working it like the group a's sides

If your worried about strength, take the piece of sheet metal to a shop with a bead roller. Have them roll a few beads in it and it should stiffen it up.
