Im slowly acquiring the pile of parts i need to go single for my car. I plan to buy the driftnotion kit.

My question is with a goal of 450-500 with 500 as the absolute most which turbo should I go with the 57 or 60mm? Would the 57 be able to hit those numbers on pump gas. Id probably go with the .70 at on both of them if thats a reasonable choice. Its divided flange. Car will have full exhaust, upgraded intercooler, aem or greddy ecu.

Thanks everyone!

DM 60-1 kit should do the trick

Edit: This is assuming you have the proper supporting mods like fuel pump/injectors, a boost controller, and maybe a DLI

I have a walbro 255 which is one of the reasons I want to stay under 500. Also over 500 everything starts getting expensive, clutch, injectors top feed fuel rail etc etc.

But ill have everything it takes for 450-500 just making sure get the smallest turbo I can and milk it to that range.

A single Walbro 255 will only get you safely to 400-450whp. If you want a build that can achieve at least 450 you should look at a second pump either in tank or inline. Better choice would probably be a Aeromotive 340lph.

Even if you get a 60-1 .70AR you're still going to want a set of cams to see 500whp on pump. If you look at any dyno sheets for 1JZ it's going to start falling off before redline. You'll also want a decent set of injectors and a new FPR, 550cc USDM may be a decent choice, but you'll be past 80% of the injectors duty cycle before you hit 500whp.

If I can get to 450 on the 60-1 walbro and 550 injectors I'd be happy as a clam. I wouldn't think cams are needed for that goal I know they add alot but my goals are fairly low.

For my goals I think I'd rather spend the cam/retainer money on the ball bearing upgrade on the dm turbos. Longer harder hitting power band. I think a bb 60-1 with 550 injectors will be a pretty good set up.

60-1 is going to be plenty for you goals. I would seriously consider cams, do you have to have them? No. But you will be amazed at the difference in the power band up top. These JZ motors love to rev, but with stock cams the power starts falling off by 6k. Where as with just some BC 264 cams youll never rev high enough to see the power band fall. Its worth the little sacrifice of spool time to get back the power up top. And if you are running a stand alone you could easily kick the rev limit up to about 8k...

Ive got 272 cams, Crower springs and retainers and im going to limit the revs at 9100rpm. Im also going to be installing oversized valves once i find a machine shop worthy to do the work...
